Scope and Content
This collection contains an official program from the 1999 NCAA Final Four Championship in Petersburg, Florida.
There are also two commemorative issues of basketball magazine Gold Collectors Series Basketball Magazine, Sports Illustrated, each celebrating Michigan State University’s National Championship in 2000, and a 2014 Sports Illustrated March Madness preview with the MSU men's team on cover. Also included is the November 6, 2017 issue of Sports Illustrated with Miles Bridges and Sparty on the cover. The issue includes a story about Miles Bridges opting to continue playing basketball at MSU during his sophomore year rather than being a NBA lottery pick. There is also a team preview article.

In 1999, the Michigan State University men’s basketball team made their third Final Four appearance and the first since winning their 1979 NCAA championship. MSU lost to Duke University, 68-62.
The MSU men’s basketball team became the NCAA National Champions in 2000 after beating the University of Florida, 89-76.
In 2014, MSU made it to the Elite Eight, before losing to the University of Kentucky, 75-72.
