Francis Russ papers
Scope and Contents
Bound phytogeography class notes of Francis Russ and Pearl Perrin from 1930. The notes are typed and in outline form. The contributions of each to the volume are not distinguishable. Some of the sections of notes have the date they were taken in class. Also included are maps, some of which were hand colored. The notes cover historical developments, definitions of phytogeography, classification and environments, forests, vegetation, climate, readings, and study questions.
The phytogeography class was taught in the botany department by H. T. Darlington, Associate Professor in Botany.

Biographical Note
Francis Russ graduated from Michigan State College in 1930 with a degree in applied science. She attended Michigan State College as a graduate student from 1930-1931 and then transferred to Kansas State Agricultural College (now Kansas State University). Pearl Perrin graduated from Michigan State College in 1931 with degree in applied science.
