The collections contains the volume Jake's Journey: Memoirs of John N. Ferris of Milton, Indiana by John N. (Jake) Ferris, 2021 and the volume Genealogy of the Ferris Family of Milton, Indiana (Following the Male Line from Samuel in England and His Son, Zachariah, the American Immigrant)by John N. (Jake) Ferris, 2021.

Also included is a video of digitized film with additional graphics and images and voice over. The video shows the activities surrounding MSU's centennial in 1955 as documented in film shot by Ferris. The video shows the opening ceremonies and activities of the Centennial of Farm Mechanization exposition. There is also footage of the historical pageant held as part of the expo.

Biographical Note

John N. "Jake" Ferris grew up on farm and received his B.S. in agriculture from Purdue University in 1951. He received his M.S. in agriculture economics in 1952 from Cornell University and a Ph.D. in agricuture economics in 1960 from Michigan State University. He was a faculty member in agriculture economics at MSU from 1957-1997.
