The records consist of course announcements, water conservation and water rights reports and publications, and article relating to water by Clifford R. Humphrys. Also included are publications about topics such as urban and city planning, rural development, community development, rural development, and population in Michigan.

The Lee Roy Schoenmann papers include papers and speeches written by Schoenmann, as well as speeches given on radio broadcasts. The topics covered in the collection mostly cover problems of conservation, land use and soil conservation, particularly in Michigan. A few papers by other authors are also contained in the collection. Some of the papers in the collection have more than one copy. Usually, these are a first draft and a revision.

This collection contains essays, many of which Russell Hill presented at various conferences dealing with land use and soil retention. The essays are about environmentally sound agricultural practices. Also included in the collection are two publications written by Hill: History -- Department of Resource Development and Land Stewardship.
