This collection consists of correspondence between members of the Fay family living in Middletown and Westfield, Connecticut, and in Genesee County, Michigan. The letters discuss agricultural and economic prospects, religious concerns, family matters, and social activities.

Ferry family papers
Typed excerpts (1823-1831) from the letters from William Montague Ferry and his wife Amanda, Protestant missionaries on Mackinac Island, Michigan, to family members in New England, especially those in Ashfield, Massachusetts. Of particular interest are descriptions of the Indians and references to opposition from the Roman Catholic Church. Also included are brief genealogies of the Ferry, Montague, Henry, Hastings, White, and Harwood families.

The Forest Akers papers include correspondence, speeches, news clippings and other materials related to Michigan State University; a variety of educational materials, legal documents, and articles; a history of Williamston, Michigan; and personal papers including Akers' class reunion information (1950) and a certificate of appointment to the State Board of Agriculture. Scrapbooks contain family photographs and photographs and other information relating to Chrysler Corporation.

Forestry Club records
This collection contains a minute book with the constitution and by laws of the club at its creation, attendance rolls and minutes of the meetings. The minutes for 1912-1913 contain receipts, and dues as well as meeting information. The papers folder contains a financial statement of the club and correspondence with the Intercollegiate Association of Forestry Clubs. Also included is a newsletter from 1967.
