The report was supported by Dr. Carl Candoli and the Lansing Board of Education and is accompanied by a 2003 letter from Dr. Villarreal to the director of JSRI. The study was conducted in Pattengill Junior High and Eastern High School with significant Chicano/Latino student enrollment. Villarreal speaks to the gender bias in the study. Included is a copy of the report with a letter to Provost Lou Anna K. Simon from Villarreal.
