George A. Dibble papers

Scope and Contents The collection consists of letters from Major George A. Dibble to his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Dibble, Lansing, Michigan, and family photographs. Dibble joined the Army Air Corps in 1941, was trained in Texas and New Mexico, (along with Captain Elliot Roosevelt), and served in a variety of European and Asian theaters as a supply flight navigator. George Dair diary

Scope and Contents

This collection contains a diary kept by George Dair, supervisor of Joyfield Township, Benzie County, Michigan. The diary deals with rural life in Benzie County. Early entries include information about Michigan weather, traveling routes, purchases of goods, and agricultural activities. The latter part of the diary includes entries of Joyfield Township records dealing with such matters as tax assessment rolls, the township voting count, and township finance.
