These records are primarily documents that were created for and during the meetings of the Capital Area Rail Council. They include agendas, minutes, correspondence and other communications, legal documents, and drawings for railway station upgrades. In addition, there are several files that describe the history of the council. The collection also contains numerous electronic files, many of which were also included in paper format.
Cass County records
This collection consists of two volumes of records for Cass County, Michigan. The first volumes contains minutes of school board meetings for Ontwa, a town in Cass County (1832-1866). The second volume contains court records as well as some records of marriages for the years 1838-1860.

This collection contains one bound volume containing twenty-five teacher contracts signed by the school board for School District No.1 in the township of Cedar Creek, Wexford County, Michigan. These contracts were for one month to ten months with the pay ranging from thirty to forty dollars.
