Despite an early MSU lead and a 98-yard kickoff return by running back Derek Hughes in the 3rd quarter, a series of turnovers contributed to the loss against the Badgers, and the Big Ten co-champion Spartans would fall to 2nd place in the division.

The football prorams give team and player information including statistics. Later programs also include information about Michigan State University. Also of interest in the program are early cover artwork and advertisments.
